I've always loved PBS. It's one of those TV stations that not a lot of college kids watch regularly since they show a lot of special programming, but they're always great and informative specials. I'm also a history major, so a lot of the specials shown on PBS are of great interest to me. However, anyone and everyone can appreciate what's being shown all this month. In February, PBS is doing a full month of specials in celebration of Black History Month.

When I was a kid, I always loved learning about different cultures, and I really like African culture. Something that I find extremely interesting is how much of an influence other cultures have on American society, and African culture is definitely present there. Some of the specials being shown this month on PBS explore this concept more deeply.

Black History is an important part of American History, and learning more about it is always a good idea. PBS is showing a variety of specials, everything from a concert at the White House celebrating the music from the Civil Rights Movement to a piece about the lives of some African Americans living in Paris in between World War I and World War II. Really, there's something for everyone, whether you're a music lover, a history fan, or you just want to learn more about Black History.

So if you're interested in seeing some good shows about awesome history, celebrate Black History Month by watching PBS.
