You knew it was coming. Just as illegal music downloading began years ago, so has illegal textbook downloading. One such Web site that provides this service is the aptly-named Textbook Torrents, which supplies reportedly more than 5,000 different textbooks in digital PDF format.

The Quad City Times reported this past week that President Bush will be coming to Illinois later this month to take part in a fundraiser. This is his first trip to the state since January 2007. The Times reports that the event will be for U.S. House candidate Aaron Schock of Peoria.

New shuttle bus program in review

Eastern is making the move from using H&H Shuttle Bus services to an in-house program beginning this August.

Two new buses were leased and the administration is finalizing the small details.

"I've fulfilled my end of the bargain," said Scott Harrison, the owner of H&H.

Our View Situation: By state mandate, Eastern must reduce 40% of our waste-stream, but we are currently at 33%. Stance: As a whole, we can get to 40% reduction easily with just a little bit of cooperation and action, but we shouldn't stop there. Eastern students ought to do a much better job recycling.

Those looking for something to mock need look no further than the corner of 22nd and Spring streets in Oak Brook, Ill., today, where the American Family Association has planned a press conference announcing its call for a boycott against McDonald's. Not because of the food, but in protest of the fast food giant "throwing the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage.
